Cam Newton Brings Great Energy

Cam Newton came to New England to try and compete. He wants to prove he has the ability to be a top quarterback in the league. However, it's been subpar for many reasons. Between COVID-19, Injuries on the offense and dumb mistakes. On Monday night against the Jets was his best game. His best receiver to throw too is Jakobi Meyers. With Edelman on Injured Reserve and Harry not effective, Meyers has been the guy to throw too. First, Newton also gives him the time of day. Second, Brady, had one foot out the door last year and wanted nothing to do with the receiving core. However, with no tight end, Newton is probably the best option this season at quarterback.

Will the Patriots extend Cam Newton after this season? They probably would if he wants to just win and play at the minimum. Belichick isn't going to pay a quarterback $30 million a year. However, Newton, depending on how he does the rest of the season he could be extended. However, the next test is this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Newton, being mobile should be able to scramble and run for yardage. However, his only reliable receiver Meyers should have a great game also.

Newton has the best press conferences. Chase Winovich should go to him for advice. After Monday's game here is Newton postgame.

We did a great job with situational football. Trailing at halftime but just being resilient and battling back as an offense. Being able to still run the football, keeping everything in the wheelhouse of this offense. For us to put opportunities into points is something we’ve been harping on and working on all year. The work we showed today was good, we just got to keep building on it.”

Every time he speaks he always takes accountability. All he cares about is winning which is all the Patriots care about. If they wanted to tank Stidham would be the quarterback. The 3-5 Patriots look to extend their win streak against Baltimore. However, having Newton's positivity is a great sign to win games week in and week out.
