No Excuses For Yesterday’s Loss

The Patriots' loss to the Broncos shouldn't have happened. Nobody today cares about the excuses for yesterday's loss. Lack of practice, Cam Newton missed three weeks, and nobody to throw too doesn't really matter. It all comes to making adjustments and beating a bad Broncos team. The Patriots had two weeks to prepare for the Broncos, even with one practice it's clear the offense isn't good enough to have only one practice.

Cam Newton can't do it all himself. He can't throw the ball and catch it too. He can't be the only one making plays and running out of the pocket. Just like last year Newton really doesn't have the weapons like Brady didn't. Harry isn't that good and hasn't been good these last couple of years. Julian Edelman has been silent this season and they have zero tight ends. Cam Newton can't carry this team himself he needs help. Brady would've lost yesterday too with that talent.

The Broncos tried to give the game away however, the lack of production on offense was the reason they lost. Newton's two interceptions were on him, but if Newton isn't on his game they'll lose. Unless they make a trade, the Patriots offense is ugly with the talent they have. They need a stable tight end, not a Ryan Izzo who turned the ball over yesterday. Someone other than Newton and the running backs to make plays.

Now they turn the page to the 49ers and Jimmy Garoppolo. That should be interesting. Newton isn't making excuses for yesterday's loss and knows they need to get ready for next week. The Patriots are the best at putting bad games behind them and having a good game the following week. With a full week of practice, they should be better prepared to beat the 49ers. But, there is still no excuse for losing to Denver.
