Nguyen Travels With Team

Lee Nguyen was on the plane to Chester, PA. He can play today due to the fact he drove from Florida to Massachusetts instead of flying. It will be a great addition to the team to even get 20 minutes out of Nguyen. He will be looking to solidify the reason he came back. Coach Bruce Arena has high valuations of Lee, he feels that he is "a proven player in the league." Arena has also said that he sees Lee Nguyen fitting into "somewhere in the midfield." He said that he sees him fitting the number 8 and the number 10 role.

The Nguyen addition will definitely allow a lot more freedom in the middle and final third. He will provide accurate passes for Adam Buksa and Gustavo Bou. Bou will stop feeling that he has to be the playmaker. We've started to see that with Tommy McNamara filling in that role.

Union Coming Off Big Win

The Philadelphia Union currently sit in third place in the Eastern Conference. They are just out of reach of the Revolution if they won today's game with 18 points. The Union are coming fresh off of a big win against New York Red Bulls 3-0 this past Sunday.

Brendan Aaronson will cause problems for the Revolution back line. He had a wonder strike in the game against the Red Bull last week. Andrew Wooten has great speed and good knowledge to get into the areas that the defense forgets to cover. He made a great assist to Kacper Przybylko for the second goal of the NYRB match. Alejandro Bedoya will always be one to watch in his games against the Revs. He is always finding space and making great assists or assists to assists.

Prediction

The New England Revolution will be heading into this game looking to forget the past two meetings of these teams. This team has evolved since last meeting the Union in their last draw. Tommy McNamara will trade minutes with Lee Nguyen in the middle of the field. The difference between the two players will allow Bruce Arena's tactics to become dynamic. If Bruce uses all five subs, it will create two separate teams while the separate play-makers exist.

Buksa and Bou will be happy to not have to track back and be play-maker anymore. Teal will be able to continue his floating runs through the defense. Kessler will continue to go out and force the opponent to find a way around his section of the defense. Buttner and Bye will find themselves not having to travel so far up the pitch, allowing both of them to play more defense.

The team will look revitalized after the win against the Chicago Fire. I envision Teal getting another goal. Nguyen will enter the match and show people the reason he was brought back to New England. The Union will punish the defense once during the game through Kacper Przybylko. Revolution with two goals to the Union's one is the final to this game. The Revs will continue their dominance on the road.

Where to Watch

The game will be on NBC Sports Boston in the region. It will be on ESPN+ in those out-of-market locations.
