Co Rocket Richard Trophy Winners
The NHL was handing out awards earlier this week to its award winners. Bruins Left Winger David Pastrnak was tied with the NHL goal scoring lead with Washington Capitals Left Winger Alex Ovechkin. David had a great season with 48 goals, and also adding 47 assists on the season with 95 points total in 70 games played. Pastrnak also had a plus-minus rating of +21 on the year. Pasta ended up having 20 goals and having 18 assists on the Power Play and combined 38 points total in that category. I would say that is impressive numbers to say the least for a young and upcoming superstar in the league, being 24 years old.
Last Bruin to score 40 goals in season was who?
The last Boston Bruin to score 40 goals in a entire season was former right winger Glen Murray back in 2002-03 season. The Bruins were long overdue for a player to hit 40+goals in a season. Who can believe that it was take about 17 years for the next Bruin to net 40 goals. Many Boston fans would of thought the likes of Patrice Bergeron or Brad Marchand, or even former Bruin Joe Thornton or Tyler Seguin would of been the last to score that many. Back in the 1970’s and 1980’s some teams would have up to two or more 40 goal scorers on one team. The Edmonton Oilers did that multiple times back then during the Wayne Gretzky era.
What is Next for David Pastrnak?
David needs to continue his performance once the season resumes. Pasta is a great minded offensive player that has the support of his other teammates. The top line has to step up and keep scoring at will if they plan on going deep this year. It all starts with their top scorer in Pasta, and the rest will have to pitch in. Once the season is over Pasta will work hard and comeback stronger for next season and beyond. Soon enough David will hit the 50 goal mark in his career and perform at the highest level possible. Pastrnak is a superstar in the making, so keep a close eye on him.
