Celtics Weekly Game Slate

Celtics Weekly Game Slate

It hasn’t been a fun week for the Boston Celtics or their fans. The team has lost four of their last five. The four losses have been at home, and two of those losses were by one point. The Celtics lost a heartbreaker yesterday to the Oklahoma City Thunder 105-104. However, it’s a new week, a fresh start if you will. With that all in our minds now, here is the Celtics weekly game slate.

3/10 @ Indiana Pacers

If the Celtics don’t start rattling off some wins this could be a rematch of the 2019 Eastern Conference quarterfinals. We know the Celtics handled the Pacers in a sweep last time these teams met in the playoffs. But this year don’t expect the Pacers to be a pushover. We know that the Pacers big player to look out for is Victor Oladipo. He’s been inured for much of the 2019-2020 season. But don’t let that make you think that he’s not ready to make an impact for this Pacers team. There’s also Malcolm Brogden, Domnatas Sabonis and Myles Turner that you have to deal with. This has been a weird time for the Celtics. So in this game, I might actually go with the Celtics. They NEED a win desperately, and this would be the perfect game to get them back on track.

3/12 @ Milwaukee Bucks

The main concern for the Bucks right now is the health of their superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo. The “Greek Freak” has a minor joint capsule sprain of his left knee. As Shams says above, the superstar is out for this week. That’s a HUGE break for the Celtics. Now granted, Jaylen Brown is still out as he is recovering from a hamstring strain of his own. However, take Giannis off the Bucks and it makes for a winnable game, even if it is in Milwaukee. Don’t get me wrong, the Bucks still have a very talented team. One guy to watch is Khris Middleton, who plays his best basketball for some reason against the Celtics. A few other guys to keep your eye on involve Eric Bledsoe and Pat Connaughton, just to name a few. Normally with Giannis in the lineup the clear advantage goes to the Bucks. But with the big man out and Jaylen Brown potentially coming back, I REALLY like the Celtics chances in this one.

3/13 vs. Washington Wizards

On Friday night the Celtics return home briefly for a game with the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are not good this season. They are wasting the efforts of Bradley Beal, and John Wall is still recovering from an achilles injury. They have had a nice boost from Davis Bertans, but other than that this game shouldn’t be close. The Celtics need to win this game to right the ship at home. Let Beal get his 30-35 and shut everyone else down. Get the win and hopefully close out the week on a high note in Chicago.

3/15 @ Chicago Bulls

The Celtics wrap up their week with a Sunday night matchup in Chicago. The Bulls are young and will be good in a few years. For now though, the Celtics are much better of a team with their core six, seven, eight man rotation compared to Chicago. The Celtics should wrap up the week nicely with a win in the windy city.
