BOSTON, MA–The Boston Bruins are back home from a Florida road-trip as they square off against the Tampa Bay Lightning for the second time in five days. It will be the final meeting during the regular season.
After suffering from an errant elbow to the face during the Florida Panthers game Brandon Carlo will not play tonight. John Moore will suit up alongside Torey Krug. Moore hasn’t played since February and sees this as an opportunity to be the next man up:
“I can really go out and push myself to get better because those opportunities are not there for you when you are in the lineup. You don’t have to worry about your energy and being sore for games and stuff like that…I really try and work on things as much as I can while I’m out.”
“I love hockey and I love competing, especially with this group.. I’ve done everything I can to put myself in a position for success and now it’s just the fun part of going out and playing…I think the last time I was in I was on the right side as well and I pride myself on being able to play both – especially playing with Torey. He’s not going to be putting me in any tough spots. He is such a smart player so I’m comfortable.”Bruins defenseman John Moore
FIZZLING OUT THE LIGHTNING
Boston defeated the Lightning this past Tuesday night 2-1 and are expecting another very tight game. The Bruins will need to continue to shut down the Bolt’s offensive lines as the tempo will surely escalate during the game. Both teams are coming off recent wins, with Boston winning 2-1 over the Panthers and Tampa Bay shutting out the Montreal Canadiens 4-0.
Despite lots of pressure towards Boston’s net the Lighting were unable to get good solid scoring opportunities. For tonight they will look to dictate the pace of the game early on as they get another shot at their Atlantic Division foe. Tampa is 2-1 against the Bruins this season and will look to even out the series tonight. Expect Andrei Vasilevskiy in net for the Lightning. Captain Steven Stamkos continues to recover from surgery.
There will be changes in Boston’s third and fourth lines with Par Lindholm back in the lineup. Sean Kuraly will be moved to the third line left-wing spot alongside Charlie Coyle and Jake DeBrusk. Expect Tuukka Rask in net for the B’s.
