As expected, Mookie Betts just got a ton of money.
That's an all time record for arbitration eligible players, topping Nolan Arenado's $26 Million a year ago. Arenado's arbitration win lead to a long term deal with the Rockies (that they're now trying to trade). Will the same happen with Mookie? Not likely. This sets the stage for any potential deal the Sox make with another team for Betts, although the reporting is the Sox are not happy with any offers they've gotten for the former AL MVP.
