The Boston Bruins hit the final road trip stretch as they face the Colorado Avalanche tonight at the Pepsi Center. Boston is coming off a 3-0 record so far this season after defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3. Both teams will be looking to stay undefeated after tonight’s match-up.
VICTORY IN VEGAS
After a slow start, the top trio line of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak hit their familiar stride. Finding themselves in a 2-0 deficient in the first, the BMP line struck back. After Bergeron closed down Vegas’s attempt, he quickly connected with Marchand who found Pastrnak through the slot. In his first goal of the season, the 22-year-old Czech winger got the Black and Gold on board.
Marchand would score the second goal (with an assist from Pastrnak), tying the game 2-2 by the end of the first. In the second period, once again Pastrnak would find Marchand, who nicely slapped the puck past Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. David Backes, who was back in the lineup, hustled hard that led to the puck being free. Sean Kuraly would find and fedexr39to defenseman Brandon Carlo.
After whipping across to fellow defenseman Torey Krug, the puck once again found itself in back of net, making the score 4-2. Vegas tried to mount a comeback near the end of the third when Max Pacioretty scored on a power-play with a final score of 4-3.
